Social Studies & Sustainability

Why the name The Green Frog News?
Did you know that frogs are considered indicator species? Certain species of plants and animals are very sensitive to changes in environmental conditions, such as climate, pollution, loss of habitat, etc. Scientists can use these species to help determine the health of ecosystems. and causes of degradation. So...it seemed appropriate :)

The Science Teachers' Wellness Guide

At The Guide, we will provide information for you and your students (and beyond) that is backed by credible sources and solid scientific research. No fads, quick fixes, or guarantees.

PLEASE BE SUSPICIOUS of what you read or hear on social media; anyone can post anything. Most people DO NOT have the expertise and/or credentials needed to safely guide you on your wellness journey.
As a veteran science teacher, I constantly stress to my students the critical importance of focusing on facts and evidence in addressing any issue. Health topics are no different. We are bombarded daily on social media, via influencers and blogs, and television, with vast amounts of disinformation and outright false claims.
